Diacritical Characters from the IAU Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature 		 

Since Web browsers can not list all the special characters used in the IAU Planetary Nomenclature Gazetteer, we use a convention of the USGS Astrogeology Research Program. We list each diacritical character as a string of three characters beginning with a back slash (\).

The string "\'e" represents the character lower case e with an acute accent

The string "\:u" represents the character lower case u with a diaeresis
