Along-Track Profiles (Summary Plots by Day)

The NAV/NLR team generated along-track profile plots in JPEG format. Each image represents one Level 2 time series of calibrated ranges for a daily profile. Each image contains multiple along-track profile plots including the radius, longitude, and latitude of Eros at bounce points as well as range measurements. The name for each daily JPEG file contains the year and day of year of the observations.

Shape Models and Related Data

Shape models were produced from Eros orbital data taken from 2000-03-05 through 2001-02-12. Models exist in tablular, IMG, and JPEG format.

Eros Orbit	2000-03-05 (065)*	2001-02-12 (043)*	NOTE: All of the following data products are duplicated on each of the 5 Eros orbital volumes, nleros_2001 through nleros_2005. Shape Model at 1 degree resolution (tabular file) - This directory contains nlr100.tab, the global shape data of Eros at 1 degree resolution. It includes the latitude and longitude of the NLR laser bounce point, the raduis, and the number of observations. Shape Model at 0.125 degree resolution (PDS IMG file) - This directory contains nlr125ar.img, the shape model, and nlr125ac.img, the accompanying image data that contains the number of observations per pixel that were used to produce the model. Use the PDS-provided IDL routine "readpds" to read the image into an array. Use an IDL routine such as "tvscl" to display the image array. Shape Model at 0.125 degree resolution (JPEG image) - This directory contains nlr125ar.jpg, a JPEG rendition of the shape of Eros in the file nlr125ar.img in the /level3/img/ directory. This directory also contains nlr125ac.jpg, a JPEG rendition of the number of observations per pixel that were used to generate the shape of Eros map. Coefficients and related data for the shape model (tabular file) - This directory contains nlrt180a.sha, the coefficients and related data for a spherical harmonic model of the shape of Eros. The model included a limited set of NLR observations.

Gravity Model, Covariance Matrix, and Related Data

A gravity model and a covariance matrix was produced from Eros orbital data taken from 2000-03-05 through 2001-02-12.

SBN approved the covariance matrix for the gravity model on March 1, 2002. This directory contains the covariance matrix, nlrg016v.sha, and a PDS label that provides a brief discussion of the errors. NOTE: The gravity model, nlrg016a.sha, is duplicated on each of the 5 Eros orbital volumes, nleros_2001 through nleros_2005.
