Overview
========
This data set contains broadband R images and derived on-chip differential
photometry of comet 9P/Tempel 1, the target of the Deep Impact mission.
The images included here were obtained by M. Buie at the Perkins 72-inch
telescope of the Lowell Observatory during 2000 apparition:
28-30 Sep 2000
1 Oct 2000
17-18 Oct 2000
19-20 Nov 2000
16 Dec 2000
18 Dec 2000
14 Jan 2001
The September and October data were obtained using the Loral 2K x 2K
CCD. The November and December data were obtained using the
SITe 2K x 2K CCD, and the January data with the Navy TI 800 x 800 CCD.
On most nights, Landolt standard stars were observed at several
airmasses and with broadband VR filters to provide a measurement
of the extinction and a means of obtaining an absolute calibration.
The purpose of this data set is to support analysis of the rotation
period and dust environment of comet 9P/Tempel 1 for the Deep Impact
mission.
File Format
===========
PDS label formats and documentation conform to standards as defined by
the Planetary Data System Standards Reference (JPL Document D-7669,
