The telescope is located on Anderson Mesa, near Flagstaff, Arizona. The geodetic coordinates of the telescope are: Lontitude : 111d 32' 09.28'' W (248d 27' 50.72'' E) Latitude : +35d 05' 48.62'' Altitude : 2200m Longitude and latitude are good to about +/- 0.2. The altitude is good to about +/- 1 meter. The location and telescope specifications given here are reproduced from the Lowell Observatory web site, http://www.lowell.edu. Telescope Specifications ======================== The 1.83-meter telescope is a classical Cassegrain reflector with the properties listed below: Primary Mirror Diameter : 1.83m (72.2in) Overall nominal f-ratio (F/#) : 17.5 Normal effective focal length (EFI) : 31.93m (1256.5in) Normal Cassegrain scale : 6.45 arcseconds/mm BFI : 1.30m (51.5in) Primary mirror f-ratio (Fp/#) : 4.18 Primary focal length (FLp) : 7.635m (300.6in) Dsa : 0.41m (16.3in) Is : 7.22m (284.1in) Os : 1.72m (68.0in) Ms : 5.91m (232.6in) mag : 4.2 Primary conic constant (K1) : -1.0 (paraboloid) Secondary conic constant (K2) : -3.65 (hyperboloid) Notes: 1) Dsa is the diameter of the axial cone at the secondary. The diameter of the secondary is 1 to 2 inches larger than DSA.
