IRAS Observations of 9P/Tempel 1 - Images

This volume contains images of the Deep Impact target, 9P/Tempel 1, obtained by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) in 1983. Aperture photometry of these images is available from the PDS as data set DI/IRAS-C-FPA-5-9P-PHOT-V1.0.

These data were reviewed in October 2003 and archived in October 2005.

Catalog Files

Catalog files contain the overview information and parameters used in loading the PDS central catalog, specifically, or for developing other interfaces to the data outside of PDS. The information they contain, particularly in their descriptive text fields, should be clear, complete, and understandable to a research user who is not necessarily a mission or instrument specialist.

Data Files

The data are divided into two main subdirectories:

• Additional Observations images acquired at all four (12, 25, 60, and 100 microns) FPA wavelength. These data have been reprocessed to produce:
  • Radiance and Noise maps, in the images/ subdirectory (presented as FITS files); and
  • Effective Beam Resolution tables, in the effres/ subdirectory (presented as ASCII tables).
• Radiance and Noise maps reprocessed from the IRAS Sky Survey Atlas scans

Index Files

This directory contain an index into the data in the index/ directory.
