Deep Space 1 MICAS - Saved Data

This volume contains every file that could be downloaded from the original Deep Space 1 MICAS data site before it was went off-line. The data are not in PDS-compliant format, nor are they sufficiently documented to be incorporated into the PDS archive. Attempts to get documentation or explanations from the MICAS team were unsuccessful. SBN personnel downloaded everything that was posted in hopes that the data could be documented, labelled and archived at some future date.

Catalog Files

Catalog files contain the overview information and parameters used in loading the PDS central catalog, specifically, or for developing other interfaces to the data outside of PDS. The information they contain, particularly in their descriptive text fields, should be clear, complete, and understandable to a research user who is not necessarily a mission or instrument specialist.

Documentation Files

The entire contents of the volume are in the document/ subdirectory, and they are in the same format as downloaded from the original web site: HTML files pointing to data files with pseudo-PDS headers. There is an aareadme.txt file from the web site in this directory. The index.htm file is the main page for the web site.

Data Files

There is no data directory. All files, including data files, have been saved in the document/ directory to reproduce the web site as it was found.
