      The Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) is located about     
      500km north of Santiago, Chile, at an altitude of 2200 meters.  The     
      observatory location is 70 deg 48 m 52.7 s  West longitude;             
      30 deg 9 m 55.5 s South latitude.                                       
                                                                              
      The 1.5-m telescope is a small telescope presently operated by the      
      Small and Moderate Aperture Research Telescope System (SMARTS)          
      Consortium.
