      Instrument Host Overview

      The University of Hawaii 2.2-meter (88-inch) telescope is located       
      near the summit of Mauna Kea, on the island of Hawaii, at an            
      altitude of approximately 4200 meters.  This was the first large        
      telescope constructed at Mauna Kea.  First light was in 1970.           
      A variety of imaging and spectroscopic instruments are available        
      for use on this telescope, including an infrared camera.
