Smith 2.7m Telescope at McDonald Observatory, was decommissioned some time after March 1988 and before October 1994. The information presented below was gleaned from Cochran, et al. (1992) [COCHRANETAL1992]. The IDS was a dual aperture spectrograph with variable apertures fixed 52 arcsec apart on an east/west line. Computer-controlled beam switching was available to alternate imaging through both apertures.
