Stardust CIDA Cruise and 81P/Wild 2 Data |

This volume contains Cometary and Interstellar Dust Analyzer (CIDA) time-of-flight spectra from the cruise and 81P/Wild 2 encounter phases of the Stardust mission.
These data were reviewed in October 2004.
An overview of the volume contents is provided in the aareadme.txt, with the corresponding PDS label in aareadme.lbl. The volume is also described in the voldesc.cat file. Known errata are presented in the errata.txt file.
Catalog files contain the overview information and parameters used in loading the PDS central catalog, specifically, or for developing other interfaces to the data outside of PDS. The information they contain, particularly in their descriptive text fields, should be clear, complete, and understandable to a research user who is not necessarily a mission or instrument specialist.

In addition to the small text files located throughout the volume to describe directory contents, some specific documents are provided to assist with understanding the data and processing involved.

The data are sorted into subdirectories based on type (spectra vs. housekeeping), phase (cruise or encounter) and operating mode (negative or positive). The data are only found in the lowest level directories, and in each case consist of ASCII files with the extension ".tab", each of which contains three separate, delimited tables and the attached PDS label. In addition, in each bottom-level directory are several files with a ".fmt" extension. These files contain column definitions for each of the tables in the ".tab" files.
