"document" Directory Contents
The document directory contains documentation files, where available, for the
data set in this volume. All document files will have an accompanying label
file to describe content and structure. Label files have the same name as the
main document file, with an extension of ".lbl".
docinfo.txt - This file.
ads.asc - The file sent to Abstract Data Service (ADS).
ads.lbl - The label for ads.asc.
capture_dates.asc - This file contains the date of capture for all images
and text files downloaded from the web for documentation in the
SOHO comet PDS archive.
capture_dates.lbl - The label file for the capture_dates_asc file.
comet_elements.asc - This file contains the orbital elements, group
membership (if any), and discoverer for all comets in this dataset.
comet_elements.lbl - The label file for the comet_elements.asc file.
calib_docs/ - This directory contains the information about the
calibration processes for LASCO instrument.
calib_docs/exp_fac/ - This directory contains PNG files which provide
monthly exposure time correction factors and corresponding standard
deviations plots for the level-0 C2 (normal, orange, clear) or C3
(normal, clear, clear) images. Further explanation of these files
can be found in expfac.asc.
calib_docs/filter/ - This directory contains plots for the spectral
transmittance in PNG format. Further explanation of these files can
be found in filter.asc.
calib_docs/quantum_eff/ - This directory contains the plots for the quantum
efficiency for each of the detectors (C2 and C3) in PDF format.
Further explanation of these files can be found in qe.asc.
calib_docs/vignetting/ - This directory contains vign.asc which describes
the vignetting process that was applied to the data images.
inst_docs/ - This directory contains information for the LASCO
instrument and its detectors.
inst_docs/handbook/ - This directory contains an ASCII text version of the
LASCO HANDBOOK FOR SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATORS. It consists of
handbook.asc and 17 graphics files from the handbook.
inst_docs/occulter_center/ - This directory contains plots of the occulter
center in x and y pixel position for C2 and C3. An overview of these
files can be found in occulter_center.asc.
inst_docs/temperature/ - This directory contains long term (mission) plots of
the C1, C2, C3, and EIT temperatures and currents. Further information
can be found in temps_plots.asc.
spacecraft_info/ - This directory contains information about various
aspects of the SOHO spacecraft. These include the spacecraft time,
ground time, solar rotation axis, and clock resets and reboots.
See clock_resets_reboots.asc and time_and_rotation_axis.asc.
sun_position/ - This directory contains PNG plots of the solar roll
angle and of the pointing and an ASCII file of roll angles in
10 minute intervals (sc_body_axis_avg_roll.asc). A more extensive
overview can be found in sunpos.asc.
telemetry_stats/ - This directory contains PNG plots of the monthly
telemetry statistics for each telescope on SOHO/LASCO. Further
information can be found in tm_stat.asc.
