This telemetry data covers the early cruise phase of the mission. The calibration and telemetry noise events have not been removed from the data. The mass thresholds for the large detector of the Dust Flux Monitor Instrument are: M1 2.0 x 10**+09 electrons M2 3.0 x 10**+10 electrons M3 3.0 x 10**+11 electrons M4 2.0 x 10**+12 electrons The mass thresholds for the small detector of the Dust Flux Monitor Instrument are: m1 4.0 x 10**+06 electrons m2 7.0 x 10**+07 electrons m3 2.0 x 10**+08 electrons m4 6.5 x 10**+09 electrons The DFMI clock is a 16 bit clock with a granularity of 1.0 seconds. The clock rolls over every 18 hours and 12.25 seconds. This is of no concern because each raw telemetry packet will contain the 48 bit spacecraft clock. The most significant 32 bits of the spacecraft clock represent seconds. The least significant 16 bits represents portions of a second, giving the spacecraft clock a granularity of 1/(2**16) seconds or 1.52587890625e-5 seconds. The spacecraft clock will be provided as UTC as the first column, as well as in decimal seconds format in column 2. The spacecraft clock can be correlated to UTC with the use of the STARDUST SCLK (spacecraft clock file ) which is archived with the SPICE data. A direct conversion to UTC is not possible because of non-linear driftrate of the spacecraft clock. Further information may be found in the DFMI Technical Manual, which is kept on file at the Planetary Data Systems Small Bodies Node."
