     This file contains a description of the index tables created for the     
SL9 MSSSO CASPIR data, the ESO EMMI data, the ESO IRSPEC data, and the ESO    
SUSI data submitted to the Small Bodies Node.   The most useful tables,       
STDINDEX, EMMIINDX, IRSPINDX, and SUSIINDX, were based on inventory files     
supplied by the submitters.  The index tables carry information about the     
scientific parameters for the experiment.   On each volume, the VOLINDEX      
file carries information about a data entry and ancillary file.               
                                                                              
     There are two types of files in each subdirectory, distinguished         
by the extensions on the file names. The filenames themselves identify        
the experiment which was used to produce each index. The types of files       
are:                                                                          
                                                                              
        *.LBL - These are PDS labels describing the data tables.  They already
                contain pointers to the data tables, so no further steps are  
                required to make them accessible to PDS table-processing      
                software.                                                     
                                                                              
                                                                              
        *.TAB - These files contain the actual metadata records from each     
                file.  They are ASCII tables and each line ends with the      
                characters <CR><LF> (ASCII 13 and 10 respectively). All fields
                in the tables are fixed width.
