COMET C/2018 X1 = P/2005 GF_8 (LONEOS)
Erwin Schwab, Egelsbach, Germany, reports the recovery of comet P/2005
GF_8 (cf. IAUC 8510) on CCD images obtained on Nov. 4 by D. Abreu and on Nov.
6 by P. Ruiz with a 1.0-m f/4.4 reflector at the European Space Agency's
Optical Ground Station, Tenerife. No coma or tail is visible in stacked
images (total exposure time 600 s on each night). The astrometry follows:

     2018 UT R.A. (2000) Decl. Mag. Observer
     Dec. 4.24922 12 33 29.94 - 4 22 28.6 20.6 Abreu
           4.25677 12 33 30.41 - 4 22 31.7 20.3 "
           4.26432 12 33 30.85 - 4 22 34.6 20.5 "

           6.26098 12 35 31.53 - 4 36 02.8 21.2 "

The indicated correction to the prediction by S. Nakano in the ICQ's 2018
Comet Handbook is Delta(T) = -1.44 days. The following linked orbital
elements by G. V. Williams (from 203 observations spanning 2005 Apr. 2-2018
Dec. 6) appear on MPEC 2018-X49.
