The coma scenarios are based on the following scale information: ENCKE Flyby speed 28km/s Time Time Range CFI Resol CFI FOV (hr) (sec) (km) (km/43 urad) 1024 pix (km) -96 -345600 9676800 416.11 426093.14 -84 -302400 8467200 364.09 372831.50 -72 -259200 7257600 312.08 319569.86 -60 -216000 6048000 260.07 266308.22 -48 -172800 4838400 208.05 213046.57 -36 -129600 3628800 156.04 159784.93 -24 -86400 2419200 104.03 106523.29 -18 -64800 1814400 78.02 79892.46 -12 -43200 1209600 52.01 53261.64 -6 -21600 604800 26.01 26630.82 -3 -10800 302400 13.00 13315.41 At each one of these designated times, we will want to do the following CFI sequence: OH OH/CN Continuum CN OH/CN Continuum C2 C2 continuum clear filter at -96 hours, we will want a 3 image mosaic in each filter with an overlap of 1/4 the field on each side of the nucleus (i.e. the middle image is centered on the nucleus, there are one image each left and right of the centered one and each of these offset one has about 1/4 of a chip overlap with the centered one). at -18 hours, we will want a 2x2 mosaic in each filter with the corners overlapping and holding the nucleus. This allows the mapping of the complete space around the nucleus in the close in region. Within 6 hours, we will want the full filter sequence at regular intervals. Perhaps every 30 minutes until -3h and then every 10-15 minutes (depending on exposure time). Within 6 hours will want to add in some of the geology filters so perhaps within 6 hours should just do the complete filter wheel. CFI loses the nucleus at -63 sec.
