Normally, this directory would contain in index.tab file listing the          
contents of the data/ directory with some required parameters.  In this       
documentation data set there is no data/ directory, and thus no index         
file.  There is a checksum.tab file containing an entry for every file        
in the dataset except itself and its label, checksum.lbl.
