Deep Impact/EPOXI: Two Domains of Polynomial Coefficients Used To Convert Raw Thermal Measurements To Temperatures by Brian Carcich, Deep Impact/EPOXI Science Data Center Manager 15 May 2014 This report describes and lists the two sets of polynomial coefficients used to convert raw thermal DNs (Data Numbers; counts) to Kelvin (temperature) for the Deep Impact and EPOXI missions. There are two domains (sets of coefficients): one is the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Advanced Multi-Mission Operations System (JPL/AMMOS) that converted the thermal telemetry used to generate the data in the Deep Impact and EPOXI Instrument Temperatures datasets, DIF-C-HRII/HRIV/MRI-6-TEMPS-V1.0 and DIF-CAL-HRII/HRIV/MRI-6-EPOXI-TEMPS-V3.0; the other is Deep Impact/EPOXI Science Data Center (SDC) pipeline that converted the DNs from the spacecraft binary image file headers to temperatures in the FITS file headers of data in the archived VIS-CCD and IR-spectral imaging datasets. It was found that the two conversions resulted in temperatures that differed by up to about one Kelvin. The coefficients are provided here to document the genesis of the difference, as it was decided as part of the archiving process to not reconcile the two conversions between the datasets. The first section of this file below gives the coefficients for the temperatures converted by the SDC in the FITS headers in the imaging datasets.
