END_OBJECT = TEXT END Quick overview ============== RPC, the Rosetta Plasma Consortium, is a set of instruments on the Rosetta orbiter for investigation of plasma properties and electromagnetic fields. The Langmuir probe (LAP) instrument is one of these instruments, and is referred to as RPC-LAP, RPCLAP or LAP. This data set contains data returned from RPC-LAP. Pointers to further documentation ================================= The primary documentation relevant for the average science user can be found in the following two documents: (1) DOCUMENT/RO-IRFU-LAP-EAICD.PDF This contains the primary documentation for issues pertaining to RPC-LAP data sets in general and as such it is shared between all RPC-LAP data sets. It describes, among other things: - directory structure - file formats - data products, - calibration process - calibration data - differences between different types of data sets (archiving levels) - general caveats - HK - description of the instrument, instrument settings, label file - keywords - contact information This should be the single most relevant document for the average science user. (2) CATALOG/DATASET.CAT This is the primary documentation for issues referring to the specific data set in which the file is located. In particular, it includes - the time interval covered by the data set - caveats specific to the data set - changes since any previous version of the same data set Additional documentation can be found in the other files under directories CATALOG/ and DOCUMENT/. For example, various mission phases can be found in CATALOG/ROSETTA_MSN.CAT.
