The images are arranged by FRAME_ID. As noted in the labels of image data under the DATA/ directory, some images, especially those taken during APPROACH phases, are windowed i.e. only rectangular subsets of the pixels in the full-frame image were downlinked from the spacecraft, and thus were all that were available to create image data files. This is typically apparent as large black sections in the viewed image, with the returned windows of data being gray and/or white. Refer to the corresponding PDS labels under the DATA/ subdirectory hierarchy for details, i.e. location and extent, of any windows. Each image is grayscale, but may have blue and red "X" in the image. That X indicates the expected position of the target (ANNEFRANK or WILD 2); the position is based on spacecraft and instrument position and attitude ephemerides AND IS ONLY APPROXIMATE, is meant only to provide an estimate for locating the target in (distant) approach imaging, and may be off by tens or even hundreds of image pixels. Note also that the X may be in the area of an image outside any windows in windowed imaging. These directories and HTML files may be viewed with an internet browser; the HTML features used are implemented by most browsers circa 2014. Files BROWSE0000.HTM (and BROWSE0001.HTM, BROWSE0002.HTM, etc., if present) contain index pages i.e. pages of thumbnail versions of the NAVCAM images. - Clicking on a thumbnail image should bring up a full-size version of the image. - Hovering the cursor over a thumbnail image should bring up a pop-up window with a reduced-size version of the correspoding image. Files BROWSE_HTM.LBL is the PDS label for the BROWSE*.HTM file(s); its DESCRIPTION contains a detailed explanation of how to use this browse facility. Nnnnnppvv.PNG (e.g. N0346AE02.PNG) in the PNG/ subdirectory is the full-size version of an image. The raw images were used for this purpose. NnnnnppvvTH.PNG (e.g. N0346AE02TH.PNG) in the PNG/ subdirectory is the thumbnail-size version of an image; these thumbnail images are used in the index page(s) (BROWSE0000.HTM et al.). AAIMAGES.LBL is the image label for all files, except itself, in the subdirectory in which it resides.
