San Pedro Martir 1.5m Visual Images of 9P/Tempel 1 during Deep Impact Encounter

Status: ARCHIVED

Abstract: The presented dataset represents 4 half-nights of observing at San Pedro Martir, Baja, Mexico. The target, Comet 9P/Tempel 1, was impacted by the Deep Impact impactor on the third night of observing, 4 July UT. The observations are optical broadband imaging (BVRI filters), on a 1.5 m telescope, with a time resolution around 10 sec near impact and 20 sec at most other times.
